History of Osage Beach
Osage Beach is located at 38°8 '18"N, 92°38'55"W in Camden and Miller counties. The city was named for a man-made sand beach on the west bank of the Osage River located at the bottom of a steep hill. It is one of many lake communities that developed as a result of the completion of Bagnell Dam in 1931. Today Osage Beach encompasses 10.5 miles of land and water providing the Lake of the Ozarks with a wide variety of resorts, marinas and businesses offering all the modern amenities to residents and tourists alike.
